What does a medical billing and coding specialist do?

The responsibilities of a medical billing and coding specialists include:

  • Coding: Assigning codes to diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and services
  • Billing: Preparing and sending invoices or claims to insurance companies
  • Tracking: Following up with patients and insurance companies about outstanding bills
  • Correcting: Fixing rejected claims

In the Medical Billing and Coding Specialist program, you will learn:
